Summing Data Fields With Enhanced Search Widget

Hi,

I am starting a project and thought I would ask before I spend a lot of time on it. I want to use the enhanced search widget to select dates within a certain range. That is the easy part! the next thing I want to do is sum a column in that selection based on another column. For example I want to sum the value of column A every time column B is a certain value. Finally I want to display my selection color coded based on the results of the search.

This database is large (2 mill +) Records. I have also thought about using a geoprocessing service to perform my task but thought I would try the enhanced search widget first.
