Pop Up and Polygons

I am having issues with getting the pop ups to work with a polygon layer. I did not see anything in the help stating that pop ups do not work with polygons. Is there something special I need to do to make them work? or do they not work? Any tips/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2

I would like to upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2.
I have a 3.1 application working that includes the enhanced search widget. If I upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 and select to overwrite the current 3.1 application builder, will this affect my current application in any way?

I don not want to have to recreate the application that I currently have running.

a bug with legendskin in API

I have a dynamic layer in my project. If I change the defaultvisibility by code, got error in legendskin in line 631. The reason is parentLayerId is null, but the condition check is (= -1) Here's the fix

at line 631, the original code is if (layerInfos[i].parentLayerId != -1)

change to if(!( (layerInfos[i].parentLayerId = -1 ) || isNaN(layerInfos[i].parentLayerId) ))

Hi,

I already had this discussion with ESRI developers in Palm Springs : I really enjoyed to have access to the Flex Viewer and extra components source code, so why don't ESRI open Application Builder source code as well ??

Their answer was : "write this message into the forums and wait for being posted and re-posted several times. Our product manager will notice it and probably change his mind on this topic"

I've set up a geoprocessing service and it seems to be up and running as it should. However, every time I run the widget, I am getting a 2038 error. Has anyone else experienced this?

In the eMapSwitch (http://arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=...dfd3d7e155746b) component, how can the widget be customized as:
1) Select the needed basemaps - I searched but could not find the file to define these basemaps.
2) Make the widget wider but reduced height - I only need 4 basemaps horizentally with the slider below.

TOC checkbox behavior after 3.1

I've noticed that TOC checkboxes behave differently with nested layers in 3.1. It's rather hard to explain but when you see it in action it's very awkward. Say you have a tree structure like this:

A
-B
--C
--D

In 3.0 and earlier you could check or uncheck any layer at any time. Nice and simple.

In 3.1 this behavior has changed. Now a layer can only be checked if one of its sublayers are checked. This forces the user to expand the tree to its lowest level and check backwards. In addition, a parent layer will automatically uncheck when all of its children are unchecked. The top layer however (A) follows the 3.0 behavior and can be toggled at will.

It's extremely awkward and makes navigation difficult. Add more sub-layers and it gets even messier. Please, please bring back the old behavior from 3.0.

Enhanced Search Widget / eSearch Issue

Hello,

I am using ArcGIS 10.1, Flex 3.2, etc.

Ever since I updated my web app from 3.1 to 3.2 using the provided widget (compiled version) my widget seems to be not working correctly.

I have a list of predetermined searchable options. In the past the end-user would click on the items to be search, once all the applicable items have been selected or entered the end-user would click on the search button and then it would produce the results.

However once I updated, the widget automatically searches with any change made to the search criteria regardless if the search button was pushed or not. In other words, if I have a list of 5 unique enteries out of say 10, then the widget automatically starts search after each interaction with the data input fields and drop down menus.

I haven't changed my source code and I still have all my operators in place.

Any ideas?

Auto-select Measure unit upon map scale

I want to customize the DrawWidget that at a give map scale, the measure unit in the combobox can be automatically populated. I added the code below in private function activateDrawTool(event:MouseEvent):void {
if(map.scale >= 9600) {
cboDistance.selectedItem.name = getDefaultString('unitsMiles');
cboDistance.selectedItem.abbr = getDefaultString('unitsMilesAbbr');
} else {
cboDistance.selectedItem.name = getDefaultString('unitsFeet');
cboDistance.selectedItem.abbr = getDefaultString('unitsFeetAbbr');
}
But the value displayed in the combolist is not right. what' wrong here? Thanks.

WMTS layer offset. Is it a bug?

I have added the ESRI WorldTimeZones WMTS sample server to the viewer. The layer is shown in the viewer but with an offset of about 900km!

The same occurred with a other WMTS services.

Is there still a bug in the WMTS layer? Others have mentioned also problems with WMTS. Could someone of ESRI respond before we all spend time on solving a problem that isn’t ours.

Flex Viewer Chart Widget - Share Chart results with Attribute Widget

I am looking for a way to modified the chart widget 3.2 to share the results of a selection so that the selection set is shown in the attribute widget just like the query and search widget does if your you add the tag shareresults to be true. I know that the chart produces a hidden layer, so I can change the code and modify the feature layer name and remove the hiddenLayer_
<esri:FeatureLayer id="highlightFeatureLayer" name="hiddenLayer_chartWidgetSelectionLayer"
this will allow the layer to be added to the attribute table, but I also need a way to get the outfields to show up. Any ideas?

Query Widget

I have some flex maps I have created, sewer and water. When I made the query widgets for the sewer map, I made them on the type of pipe, i.e. steel, concrete, PVC, etc. When I made the water map, I tried the same queries. For some reason, the PVC pipe can't be queried. I either get an error, or it says there is no results to the query. I tried making another feature class, with a domain assigning PVC as "plastic". I set the query as Material LIKE 'P%', and I still get either the error or no results at all. Am I missing something? This worked beautifully in the sewer map. What am I missing?

Pop-ups and ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Hosted Mapservices

I have a Flex application where I am using an AGOL hosted mapservice that allows editing of the mapservice on AGOL. I also setup the pop-ups the same way as with mapservices that are hosted on my server. Currently, I can edit the mapservice through the Flex Viewer application by providing AGOL credentials, but the pop-up is not working.

Has anyone encountered this problem with an editable mapservice (feature access enabled) with pop-ups?

Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated.
