Hi everyone, i would appreciate so much your help with this issue. I have published my web page with Print Widget as one of my toolsand it works fine when im inside my LAN, but when i run the Widget from any other location outside my network, it throws :esriJobFailed, I've seen the process with Fidler and HttpWatch (Firefox) but everything seems to be fine: the urls and the job assigment.

Please someone who could help me with this problem,

Thanks a lot!!

Coordinate Widget - If Statement for the extent

$

Hello,

I am trying to display along side the coordinates the local map grid ZONE the mouse is over.
In theory I could have an If statement where
If Eastings <= 10000 and >=5000

And if Northings <=15000 and >=10000

Then Zone = Map Grid 51. Which I will place in coords.text

But I can't seem to reference the X and Y values that are being displayed in my coordinate widget.
The structure they are stored in is throwing me off. i'm guessing it will be something like:

Code:

if m_template = configXML.labels.template[0] || configXML.label.@template[0] || {0} <= 750000 ... etc
Any ideas at all would great.

Simple Search (Widget)

Can someone please help me on the code for a simple search...I wish users to be able to search a layer item and need the code that will return the value. But I need the code that returns when the request is NOT Case Sensitive or name is partially selected. For example: Selecting a text item = 'Name' , but will return the value if the user inputs 'name' or 'Nam'.

I am still using Flex 2.4 on ArcGIS for Server 10.0

<configuration>
<layers>
<layer>

<expression>Tenant like '[value]'</expression>
<textsearchlabel>Search by Tenant Name [ Example: Martin Marietta or Mart%]</textsearchlabel>
<titlefield>Tenant</titlefield>
<linkfield>PDF Hyperlink</linkfield>
<fields all="true"/>
</layer>
</layers>
<zoomscale>10000</zoomscale>
</configuration>

What am I missing? Thank you.

Identify Widget v3.2 for FlexViewer 3.2 Configuration Issues

I have set <layers onlythese="true"> in an attempt to only identify features (tax parcels) in a specified <layer>. After clicking on a feature, nothing happens. If I switch <layers onlythese=> to false, the identify starts working after a feature is clicked but will return results from every layer.

I know it must be something obvious, but I can't seem to crack this nut... Ideas?

Version 3.2 using a secure web server URL

We are using an SSL enabled (self-signed certificate) web server on port 6443 with ArcGIS Server 10.1 SP1. My rest services resolve just fine at https://devgisappvsrv:6443/arcgis/rest/services. However, I cannot get ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 3.2 to accept the web server base folder URL as https://devgisappvsrv:6443/flexviewers. It asks me if I trust the certificate and I click Yes to both messages. But then I see this pop up: "Please check your Web Server Base Folder URL." It won't accept the https version of the web server url. It will accept http://devgisappvsrv:6443/flexviewers, but we don't have http enabled on the server (only https).

Help!!

widget preload="minimized"

In the main config file, I added
preload="minimized"
for some of widgets. It brings 2 problems:
1) If the overall widgets with the preload iare limited (e.g. 3), the top one's position is on the banner toolbar. Even though I set top (e.g. = "200" or "450") How can it be lowed slightly below the banner toolbar?
2) f the overall widgets with the preload are more than 4 or more, none minimized widget displays on the UI. Nut in the banner toolbar, those widgets are yellow-color-underlined that mean they are suppose to be on the UI. Besides, if I click any tool ion (on the toolbar), nothing happens. Does this observation implies that the preload-minimized widgets should be limited somehow?
Thanks.

defining zoom level with basemaps

Hello. Is it possible to set the zoom level in the config file to be able to zoom in a lot closer with the base maps. I have developed a few web applications for our water and sewer inspectors. And one issue that we are having is that at some intersections there are multiple valves and you need to be zoomed in pretty close to be able to see how all valves are placed on the water lines. So I guess my question is. I sit possible to overwrite the zoom level in the esri base maps. and if so How do I do that. Thanks in advance with any help with this.

Hi,

When I use the rectangle tool for a specific layer by clicking on only one point, the result appears. But if I use the point tool for that same specific layer, I get the message "No Results Found".

Help with coding the Print Widget config xml file

I'm trying to figure out the proper way to include/exclude formats in the Print Widget config but the explanation in the tag reference is not very good. What I want to do is remove "pdf" from the list of formats but include the other ones. Below is the current config but it's not working:

Code:

<configuration>

    <taskurl>http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export%20Web%20Map%20Task</taskurl>
    <layouttemplates visible="true">
        <layouttemplate>MAP_ONLY</layouttemplate>
        <layouttemplate>Tabloid ANSI B Landscape</layouttemplate>
        <layouttemplate>Tabloid ANSI B Portrait</layouttemplate>
    </layouttemplates>
<formats visible="true">png32,png8,jpg,gif,eps,svg,svgz</formats>
</configuration>

<!--

Move EMapSwitcher

$

I am using the enhaced map switcher widget in an application that uses the basemap fader to view historical aerial photos.
I am not showing thumbnails, just the photo date as the label.

The problem is that it stretches across the top portion of the screen and when you hover over any of the widgets it covers up the widget label.

Is there a way to move the basemap switcher so that there is no conflict or force it to a vertical slider instead of horizontal?

Also how can I change the layer list button label from "more" to "Layers".

Thanks

Application Builder

Hi,

Question:
Using ArcGIS viewer for flex 3.1, changes poly line color to black when you add operational layers, but when you include the operational layer as a folder. all the lines and points display the correct colors set up in Arcmap. I would like to include operational layers seperatly not as folder. What can I do to have application builder display the poly line color the same as in Arcmap?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Adding New Layer to Existing Map Service Messes Up Order of Operational Layers

$

I'm just curious what people have done to work around the issue when you create a map service and configure the pop-ups and styles through the flex viewer application and then you want to add a new layer in the middle of your operational layers? After adding the new layer in the middle of everything, my layers display is all messed up shifting everything up one or down one.

For a while I would use the flex viewer application builder and delete my operational layers and then go back in and include all the operational layers from the my rest services. I would have to reconfigure my pop-ups and other settings. It would take a very long time.

Then I got the idea to go into the configuration file for the map and just change the layer number to reflect what the newly published rest services said. But I'm wondering if someone has made a script or an easier work-around than that? Does ESRI have a better solution?

Related Record Foreign Key

When adding a new related record using the Edit widget the foreign key is not auto-populated.

For example I have a feature with a primary key. I click on the feature to get the edit popup and click the related records link at the bottom. Then, after clicking Add New Record, I am presented with the inputs for that table. Included is the foreign key field which is blank. It seems to me two things should happen. 1) The foreign key field should be auto populated with the current features primary key. 2)The foreign key field should be hidden. The second one I haven't attempted but I believe its relatively straight forward. But the first part I am surprised about.

So, am I missing something or the widget is not operating correctly.

pop-up hyperlinks not working: spaces getting translated to %2520

$

Hello,

I am configuring a pop-up in FlexViewer 3.1 using HTML. One of the items in the pop references a field in my map service that contains a fully qualified url. The urls all use %20 instead of spaces.

Previously in my v2.4 of this same web application, the pop-ups work fine. They are configured in the <configuration> tag:

<field name="PLANURL" alias="Plan Link:" visible="true"/>

With version 3.1 however, I though I'd use HTML within the
tag to style the hyperlink so that to the user it looks something like this: Plan: Smith River Conservation Plan (Link)

<
Plan: {PLANNAME}  (Link)

Problem: when I click on the Link in the pop-up, I can't get to the url because all instances of %20 (which represent spaces) have been changed to %2520.

I don't understand why the %2520 - I can't figure out if this is a problem with my href syntax, or if it's an Adobe thing ...

Any help is appreciated - thanks.
