Hello,

I am working with flex 2.5 andI have a question concerning the legend widget.

I realized that I have two titles in the legend : the name of my mapservice and the name of the layer. Can I choose to display only one? Or perhaps rename the layer only in the legend widget?

All,

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can find a widget that is similar to the splash that would have like two options or buttons, one a Public (unsecured) option and one a Private or secured option. If the user hits public they see the public flex app with public data. If they choose Private they would be prompted for some kind of Login, a user name and password...maybe something like a windows login managed in IIS?? I am ok with maintaining this list and all in house here on my server. I am not looking for token security on REST layers right now. If the user authenticates then they get a flex app with a few more widgets and a few more data sets. I have seen some stuff that comes close like in the COP or common operational picture flex apps where the user picks their role and they get a different type of web map based on different config files but I think for me the missing piece here is the basic windows type login page at the front end of the flex mapping application. It seems there may be some samples, examples, something out there but I haven't been able to find it. Thank you for any help.

I created a skin mxml in Viewer for Flex and placed an image in the title bar. the image was found darkened.
Reference please found attached a clip of the display I get.

What have I done wrong?

Hi every body ,

I am not a developer, and I have data in database contain - points ( title and some information) for each point.

we can export data from database to web service and also we can connect direct to database

I need a widget to display a list of titles for points, and when click on the title display the details in the map(with selected point)

is there any widget or tools to do that ?

and I will be very thankful for any reply ...

Hello,

I have a widget with three combo boxes. i need to keep a specific value as a default value.
i added the following two line of code in fillComboBoxGovs() function

I'm using ArcGIS Viewer for Flex Application Buildere v3.6 I have an existing English version of the viewer but I need to convert this copy into French as well.

Can anyone provide any guidance and/or documentation on how to proceed?

I've created a secured service and enabled editor tracking. I'm using the default Edit Widget but added code to enable the IdentityManager. I enter my username/password when entering the website and add a feature. The issue is that the value for the CREATED_USER field that is being entered is esri_anonymous and not my username.

Has anyone else had this issue or can tell me what is it that I'm doing wrong?

Using the 3.6.2 version of the Identify Widget, I cannot get names of attributed, ERDAS Imagine (.img) raster layers to display when I click on a pixel in the Flex app to identify. In the 3.0.2 version of the widget for Flex Viewer 3.0, the layer name would be displayed for these raster layers. How can I get the layer name to be displayed along with the other results? I am using ArcGIS 10.2 for Server and Flex Viewer 3.6, on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. I have not installed the Flex API, just the Flex Viewer.

Behavior is the same with widget version 3.5.1 for Flex Viewer 3.5.

Layer names for vector layers are displayed with Identify results, just not the layer names of the Imagine .img files. In Widget settings, if I try and add a layer from one of these rasters, the services are seen, but no "addable" features are shown, so I cannot add them.

In my current xml configuration for the widget, I completely removed the <layers> section. So there is no layer info in the xml for any layer. Everything seems to work fine except for the .img layers for which no layer names are displayed.

Hi All,

Has anyone done any developing that takes advantage of the ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service for purposes of the flexviewer? https://developers.arcgis.com/en/fle...enrichment.htm
Just wondering how the experience has been. I am using a custom widget that takes use of the the BAO api, but that api is scheduled to shut down starting April 1st, which is disappointing. I am thinking that the GeoEnrichment service could be pretty cool for users, maybe the flex team wants to show off some capabilities for the Viewer ;) .... just a thought. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have set up my viewer config to allow users to zoom up to scale 141,
My basemap map server cache tiles however only go up to scale 1128,
As expected, once I zoom closer than the 1128 scale, my map will go blank, because no data exists for these levels.

Is there a way to use the same 1128 cached tiles at the larger scales as well? Meaning, instead of giving me a blank map, just give me the tiles from the 1128 scale?

Hello

I need to be able to enter coordinates and zoom to them using the flex viewer.

I have no development software to compile flex code so need to use a compiled widget.

In the past I have used the Coordinate Menu widget - which was great and did exactly what I needed, plus was simple to use.
Unfortunately having upgraded to Flex Viewer 3.6 the widget no longer works and has not been recompiled beyond version 3.3.

I tried using the enhanced locate widget, but I cannot work out how to isolate just the coordinate tab functions.
All the geocoding and address lookup stuff isn't needed and will just confuse my users.

ESRI - why isn't a simple zoom to xy bundled as part of the flex viewer as standard?

If anyone has any ideas or is able to suggest something that will work with the new flex viewer I would appreciate it.

Hi all,

I,m getting a unknown error "[RPC Fault faultString="Unable to complete operation." faultCode="400" faultDetail=""]" in my eSearch widget when I try to run a spatial query using the relationship "entirely contained in" to bring points within polygons.

This error happens when the polygons have a relationship of "contain" between them. That is, when a polygon contain other polygon.

When I have polygons that have intersection between them, identical polygon or polygons with no spatial relationship I do not get this error.

I am using flex api version 3.6 and the widget is also the latest version and I put two screenshots attached for better understanding.

Would anyone say how can I solve this problem?

Hello

Im attempting to rename / change the alias in the related tables in the Attribute Table Widget. i am using relates stored in the MXD so there names are super long (i.e. xxx.SQLDBUSER_CONNECT.%Primary_Constituents).

Symbology Error in Edit Widget

For some reason the symbology within the Edit widget UI box does not match the symbology within my layer list or legend widgets.

The data I am working with is coming from a DB2 Enterprise database. The field data type is Short Integer(when viewed via ArcGIS). I am using a coded domain to represent the attribute values for the field in question.

A while back I was asked to change the order and text of the coded domain. I made the necessary changes and updated my database to reflect the change in values. Everything appears to work fine in the desktop environment along with the layer list and legend widgets.

However it appears that the popup box in the Edit widget is somehow associating the older values. The symbology is in the proper order, however the text is not and appears to be pulling the older version.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

I have republished my service and even replaced the Edit widget files, but with no success.

I am using the Viewer for Flex 3.6 and ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.

I no longer see a basemap switcher button. I double checked the settings, and everything is turned on as it should be. However, when I view the published map, the basemap button is not there. Any ideas?

Hello,

First, a little background information concerning this post. About one year ago, I was hired to update our older county IMS website to Flex 3.0. It successfully included every layer and function that the previous IMS site contained (thanks a great deal to Robert's awesome widgets). There were really no special modifications to the new site, just a basic flex viewer template. After all, this was intended to be a basic parcel information site. Upon release, everything worked just as intended. However, the public's response was fast and very critical. Mostly with complaints of: "IMS was better!", "There's too much clicking!", "This is too complicated!", "What's a widget!", "This site is terrible, it needs to be redesigned now!", "I don't know where the search is! (even though it's opened upon entering)".

Fast forward to now and we still get the same complaints from time to time. And time and again it's usually the older generation who have extreme trouble navigating. According to our Google Analytics we average between 350-500 users per day. In a given week we may have 10-15 people call in to gripe about something. It gets extremely aggravating to have to explain as to why we upgraded and that people still don't understand the issue. They believe that we should cater to their every opinion. So my question I present in this discussion is: "How much push-back or complaints from public have you experienced moving forward to Flex versus some other tech?"

Hi All

I'm getting a #2048 Error from Identity Manager when singing in to ArcGIS Viewer for Flex to access a secured service. Only in Chrome and FireFox. I know that this generally relates to a missing or incorrect crossdomain.xml file but I have confirmed that i have a corssdomain.xml in my web server root and I can browse successfully to it from a browser on the web server or elsewhere on the domain.

I have examined the client server traffic over using the Chrome developer tool. I can see that when I put the usr/pwd into Identity Manager it tries to get to the crossdomain file. The request header tries to access the file on my web server but gets redirected to https. The crossdomain file that gets returned in the response is not the same one as the one in my IIS root.

I have attached images that show the crossdomain on http and the one that is returned after the redirect to https as well as the request header and response.

Can anyone shed any light on why this may be happening and also if it is actually what is causing my #2048 error?
