ArcGIS for Flex - Modify Direction widget

Hello,

I`m trying to customize the direction widget to show the length in kilometers, not in miles, and also to obtain different routes due to impedances (similar to route analysis from network analyst from ArcMap).
Does anyone knows how can I customize the widget to obtain this result?
